Gov. Scott Committee Nears $2.85 M For Year

MIAMI (CBSMiami/NSF) - Gov. Rick Scott's "Let's Get to Work" political committee collected $175,000 in July, bringing its overall total for the year to nearly $2.85 million, according to a newly filed finance report.

Tampa businessman Jeffrey Vinik gave $100,000 last month, while TECO Energy contributed $50,000.

The committee also spent $64,124 in July, with the largest chunk, $14,000, going to the Tallahassee-based Labrador Company for political consulting.

Let's Get To Work, which played a key role in Scott's re-election last year, had spent an overall total this year of about $2.68 million as of July 31, according to the report.
