GM Orders Dealers To Stop Selling Some Cars

DETROIT (CBSMiami) - Already reeling from a massive recall, General Motors ordered Chevrolet dealers to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Cruze cars for an undisclosed issue, according to USA Today.

The order applies to some Chevrolet Cruze models that have a 1.4-liter turbo engine and the exact number of cars impacted by the stop-order is now known.

CNNMoney reported the Cruze was GM's best-selling U.S. car model in 2013.

Dealers told USA Today that the orders are common to fix a safety problem with a car. The order was received by dealers on Thursday.

GM recently recalled 1.6 million older cars to fix an ignition switch problem that can slip out of position and cause loss of power to steering and brakes. GM said 31 crashes and at least 12 deaths have been reported due to the ignition switch issue.
