Global Nonprofit Backs Miami Tech Start Up

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — The founders of a Miami-based tech company have been chosen by the global nonprofit group Endeavor to be on their list of high-impact entrepreneurs.

The decade-old Endeavor has focused on entrepreneurs in developing countries but opened its first U.S. offices in Miami last fall with support from the Knight Foundation.

On Friday, Endeavor announced its selection of Leapfactor co-founders Lionel Carrasco and Marcela Henao. They're among 29 entrepreneurs from around the world chosen for their companies' potential and commitment to giving back to their communities.

Carrasco and Henao founded Leapfactor in 2009 with a mobile app to improve how companies manage their sales systems. They're expected to eventually become mentors for other rising entrepreneurs.

Leapfactor is the fourth South Florida company Endeavor selected to work with its network of investors and Fortune 500 mentors.
