ATHENS, Ga. (CBSMiami/AP) — Federal officials arrested a man in Georgia accused of having made hoax bomb threats in Florida.

FBI Special Agent Michael D. Leverock says 25-year-old Preston Alexander McWaters of Athens was arrested there Tuesday.

Leverock says McWaters is alleged to have been involved in multiple hoax bomb threats against schools, a business and an airport in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Leverock says McWaters faces federal charges and is expected to make an initial appearance in federal court in Macon.

It was not immediately clear whether McWaters has an attorney who could comment on the charges he faces.
