Andrea Jamie was sophmore in the university's School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The university issued a public health alert about Jaime's diagnosis earlier in the day.

The alert said public health officials are working with the school to ensure there is no risk to the campus community while additional testing is done to confirm the exact cause of the infection.

The university's Student Health Services division encouraged students and faculty to pay closer attention to personal hygiene practices, including washing hands with soap or using alcohol based hand-sanitizers regularly. To limit the spread of illness, sharing cups, cosmetics, toothbrushes, smoking materials or anything that comes in contact with the mouth should be avoided.
