GAINESVILLE (CBSMiami/AP) — The starting quarterback job at the University of Florida appears to be a fluid situation.

Florida is flipping its quarterback rotation for the second game of the season.

The Gators announced Thursday that redshirt freshman Will Grier will make his first career starter against East Carolina.

Sophomore Treon Harris started the season opener, played three series and then turned things over to Grier.

Grier directed six drives before Harris went back in. Each quarterback led the Gators to four touchdowns and a field goal in the 61-13 victory against New Mexico State.

Grier completed 16 of 18 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 43 yards and a score. Harris, who started the final six games last season, was 14-of-19 passing for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

New Florida coach Jim McElwain has a history of playing two quarterbacks early and then settling on a starter.
