Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Int'l Airport Terminal Temporarily Evacuated

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - One of Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport's terminals was temporarily evacuated Wednesday morning after a fire alarm went off.

Travelers were forced to leave Terminal 3 just after 6 a.m. Passengers who had not passsed through security check points were sent outside, those that had been through security were reportedly herded out onto the tarmac.

The all clear was given about a half an hour later and everyone was allowed back inside the airport.

Airport spokesman Alan Siegal said there was false alert on a fire alarm on the lower level and there was never any fire.
