MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – Friends and family are gathering Tuesday to honor the life of a Miramar teen killed in a tragic accident on I-75.

Liza Angulo, a 17-year-old recent graduate from American Heritage High School in Plantation, was killed in a chain reaction crash on May 29. Angulo crashed into a tractor trailer, causing concrete walls to fall on her car. The tractor trailer had collided with another car in the southbound lanes of I-75. The driver of that car, 29-year-old Jonathan Astaphan, was also killed and his passenger was taken to the hospital.

Blum said Angulo was a "bright" and "intelligent" student who planned to attend to the University of Miami.
