DAVIE (CBSMiami/AP) — People often head to South Florida to retire and enjoy the beautiful weather, so why should football players be any different?

Wes Welker is the latest free agent receiver to visit the Miami Dolphins.

The 33-year-old Welker, who played for Miami from 2004 to 2006, arrived at the team complex Wednesday. The five-time Pro Bowl player was with Denver last year and caught 49 passes for 464 yards and two scores, his least productive season since 2005.

Welker has been troubled by concussions but has missed only nine games in his 11-year career.

The Dolphins are eager to shore up their corps of wideouts after several departures this offseason. They earlier hosted visits by Greg Jennings and Michael Crabtree.
