DAVIE (CBSMiami/AP) —The Miami Dolphins added depth to their defensive secondary on Monday.

Free agent cornerback Zack Bowman visited the Miami Dolphins knowing that the team was interested

Miami has a starting spot open opposite Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes.

Bowman is a seven-year veteran who started seven games for the Bears in 2013 and five games for the Giants last year. A fifth-round pick by the Bears in 2008, he has 28 career starts and 12 interceptions.

Many projections have the Dolphins taking a cornerback in the first round of the draft April 30, while others think that they may choose a wide receiver. They need to replace starter Cortland Finnegan, who retired.
