Fort Lauderdale Mother Accused Of Being Drunk, Dropping Kids On Ground After Picking Them Up From Day Care

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A South Florida mother of two appeared in bond court Friday on child abuse charges after being arrested for reportedly showing up at her children's daycare while intoxicated and throwing her two children to the ground.

According to the owner of the Euphoria Home Daycare on NW 12th Lane, someone dropped 25-year-old Sarice Sharp off so she could pick up her children.

The driver told the daycare owner; "get this bitch out of my car" before driving off, according to Sharp's arrest report.

According to witnesses, Sharp held one child by the hand and had the other by her side as they walked away. Sharp then reportedly picked up and dropped each child to the ground repeatedly.

Her two boys are one and two-years old.

According to a witness, "she threw him and like, when you're trying to rush she was pulling and throwing them. Like picking something up and throwing them."

When a witness told her to stop, Sharp reportedly left her children unattended in the street so she could confront her.

That's when the police arrived.

The police report states, "The defendant would drop/toss her (child) to the concrete ground. The defendant would walk away while then re-grabbing the (child) by the arm holding him in the air as she walked."

The witness also told police, "She saw the defendant tossing each child to the ground one by one," and also, "The defendant would then pick both children up at the same time and again would toss them to the concrete ground."

Police say she had a strong smell of alcohol on her breath, bloodshot eyes, and could not comprehend simple questions. The report stated that she continued yelling at the witness and allegedly tried to fight her.

The witness said, "I started crying. It really hurt my feelings. I ain't never seen that. Seeing something on Instagram and stuff, you're like, 'oh that's how they're doing it.' But seeing something in person, it's really sad."

Sharp is charged with two counts each of child abuse without great bodily harm and two counts of child neglect.

Both of her children were taken to Broward Health Medical Center to be checked out after officers spotted a bump on one of their heads.
