Fort Lauderdale Boy Hit By Falling Bullet On July 4th

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - For the second time in less than a week, a seven-year-old Fort Lauderdale boy was rushed to the hospital after being shot.

The latest shooting happened July 4th at a home near NW 31st Avenue and 65th Drive on Saturday night.

Jason Fuentes was swimming in the pool when he was hit in the arm by a bullet that fell from the sky.

He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery..

  • Last week, Brason Plummer was shot in the head in a home in the 1500 block of NW 2nd Avenue. He too was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center.

    Fort Lauderdale police spokesperson Casey Liening said at the time, "Foul play does not appear to be a factor, but those circumstances are still being investigated."

    His family confirmed that he died over the weekend.
