Former Miami-Dade Commissioner Found Murdered In Georgia Home

GEORGIA (CBSMiami) -- Former Miami-Dade Commissioner James "Jimmie" C. Burke was found dead at his home in Georgia Saturday.

Burke, 68, served 27 months in federal prison for accepting bribes in the late 90's.

His wife, Sonia Burke, 58, was arrested and charged with murder.

Officers said Burke died from gunshot wounds during a domestic dispute.

He leaves behind six children, according to The Miami Herald.
