TAMPA BAY (CBSMiami) -- Cornerback Brent Grimes has landed a new job just a little north of his old one.

The former Miami Dolphin has signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for $16.5 million, according to NFL.com.

The 32-year-old played three Pro Bowl seasons with Miami where he racked up 13 interceptions and 2 touchdowns, including earning AP Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2013 after his return from a torn achilles.

With Miami, Grimes became one of the league's top cornerbacks but his high salary and off-field distractions involving his wife, Miko, led many to believe his time with the Dolphins was coming to an end.

Grimes now looks to become the face of a Buccaneers defense that ranked 23rd in total defense and only collected 11 interceptions last year, tied for 21st in the NFL.
