The primary role of the United Way of Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse is to work with agencies to build healthier communities.

Its Youth Coalition is a program focused on developing youth advocates in substance abuse prevention through education and empowerment.

One of the ways it hopes to accomplish this is through its upcoming "Alternative Spring Break", and a partnership with the Jason Taylor Foundation that supports a Nova Southeastern University competition called "Louder Than a Bomb"

We focus on the need and how our young people can take advantage of what's being offered.
