Focus On South Florida: Neighborhood HELP

A 20th century approach to practicing medicine, is making a comeback in South Florida. You might be surprised to learn that there are doctors, and med students in South Florida who make house calls.

Neighborhood HELP, as it is called, has grown significantly in the past six years. HELP stands for "Health Education Learning Program". It pairs students and faculty from FIU's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine with medically underserved families. We focus on the huge void the program is filling and how it literally is saving lives.
