Focus on South Florida: Gay Pride Month

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month. L-G-B-T Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City.
The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the gay liberation movement in this country. Gay pride month events across South Florida are plentiful, and nowhere is that more so than in Wilton Manors where a large percentage of the population identifies as LGBT.
