Focus on South Florida: Dropout Prevention

The Communities in Schools of Miami program is the nation's number one dropout prevention program. CIS mentors, counsels, and oversees 35-hundred at-risk youth. "Diplomas Now" is an organization that identifies at-risk students early on to eliminate the pitfalls that might lead them to drop out. Once a program for 700 middle school students, "Diplomas Now" currently serves more than 31-thousand students in 14 U.S. Cities. CIS was recently recognized by "Diplomas Now" for its outstanding graduation and retention rates. We focus on the unique partnership between these two and what makes them so successful.
