Foaming Fire Trucks Now In Use At MIA

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – New vehicles were just added to the fleet at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Airport Division.

The four state-of-the art Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting vehicles were purchased for $3 million by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department and will deploy the latest in aircraft rescue and response technology.

The vehicles were given a water-cannon salute and then operators showed their new capabilities in a demonstration.

Each of the vehicles can produce more than six thousand gallons of foam for firefighting incidents and two of them have a 50-foot-long device that can pierce an aircraft's exterior to deliver foam inside the aircraft if there is a fire.
