TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) — Florida's top law enforcement agency is still investigating a cyberattack on the state's testing system with no public explanation as of yet.

A spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement would only say that the incident, which happened six months ago, remained under investigation.

State officials last March blamed the cyberattack for some of the delays that marred administration of the Florida Standards Assessment. That's the new test based on standards linked to Common Core.

The Department of Education maintains that the cyberattack prevented students from logging on to take the test but that test itself and student information was never breached.

Testing problems, however, led state legislators to order an independent study into how the test was drawn up and administered. That study is due by Sept. 1st. Education officials have not distributed test results while the test is pending.
