Florida State Coach Mike Martin Receives 2-Year Extension

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State baseball coach Mike Martin has signed a two-year contract extension through the 2017 season.

Florida State released details of the contract on Tuesday as part of public records request. With the extension, the 71-year-old Martin will earn $577,500, plus postseason bonuses.

Martin has 1,857 victories in 36 seasons at FSU, winning 40 games in each year at the school. He has a .741 career winning percentage.

Florida State (44-19) will play Florida (47-16) in a best-of-three Super Regional beginning Friday night in Gainesville. The winner advances to the College World Series.
