Florida Receiver Pittman May Play After Injury Scare

GAINESVILLE (AP) — Florida receiver Latroy Pittman, who was carted off the field Saturday, might practice and play this week.

Coach Will Muschamp says Pittman might "get some physical activity today and tomorrow, and we'll kind of move from there."

Pittman was hurt during Florida's final play Saturday. After slamming head-first into a defender, Pittman was strapped to a backboard, carted off the field and transported to a hospital. He was later released.

Muschamp defended his team's response to Pittman's injury. Instead of taking a knee like LSU players did, the Gators went over potential plays.

Muschamp says trainers "felt like he was going to be fine. ... We've not instructed our players to take a knee in those situations. That's not something that we've done (here) or anywhere that I've ever been."
