Florida Man & Rhode Island Woman Take Top Spot At Triathlon

KEY WEST (CBSMiami/AP) — The annual Key West Triathlon has two new winners.

A 29-year-old man from Florida and a 39-year-old woman from Rhode Island won their groups.

Yunior Rosete of Aventura finished in 1 hour, 57 minutes and 15.95 seconds Saturday. Kate Bruck of East Greenwich posted a time of 2:19:24.23.

The Olympic-distance triathlon included a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40k bike ride and 10k run.

Second place in the men's division went to 36-year-old R.J. Ross of Ontario, Canada, with a time of 1:57:50.81. Miami's Andres Zimeri, 25, took third at 2:03:35.43.

In the women's division, Julie Stackhouse, 35, of Jacksonville, Florida finished second at 2:26:02.74, while 24-year-old Teale Beckenbach of Atlantic Beach, Florida took third with 2:31:46.90.

The event attracted 892 registrants.
