Florida Job Openings Highest In A Decade

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – Governor Rick Scott announced the state's November job openings had reached the highest level in ten years.
Job demand in Florida increased by 19,272 openings last month to 299,530. That's an increase of 6.9 percent compared to the national growth rate increasing by only 4.3 percent, according to the announcement.
"I am proud to announce that the number of job openings in Florida is at its highest level in a decade. We are working to cut $1 billion in taxes and create the new Florida Enterprise Fund this year to help small businesses and diversify our economy in order to grow even more jobs. Florida is leading all large states in job growth and we will keep working every day to be first for jobs," Scott said.
Registered nurses continue to be the top occupation in demand.
In October, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics listed Florida as second only to California in job creation.
