Florida AG Asks Appeals Court To Overrule Same-Sex Marriage Rulings

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) - Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has formally asked an appeals court to overrule two South Florida judges who found the state's same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional.

Bondi filed it with the state's Third District Court of Appeals, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.

On July 17th, Monroe County Chief Circuit Judge Luis Garcia declared Florida's 2008 same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional. On July 25th, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Sarah Zabel did too.

There is no word on if or when the appeals court will hear the case.
