MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A South Florida travel company is reviving flights from Key West to Cuba, months after the announcement of eased travel restrictions to the island nation.

According to our news partners The Miami Herald,  Mambi International Group's flight left Key West International Airport at 10:00 a.m. on Friday headed to Havana.

The 90-mile trek takes about 45 minutes to arrive to the communist country, according to the company.

The move comes after December's announcement of eased travel restrictions on U.S. residents wanting to go to Cuba.

But this is not the first time the company has tried this.

In February 2014, the company launched a similar service but it only lasted six weeks. The company's sale executive, Banay Coma, told the paper it's more organized this time around.

Each commercial flight will be on one nine passenger plane that is expected to leave every Friday with a round trip price tag of $525.

The company told the paper they plan to also fly to Santa Clara in Central Cuba every Wednesday starting March 25th.
