MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It was wild chase that ended with a man in cuffs Tuesday night. But it's the vehicle he used that has everyone stunned.

"It is a little bizarre, especially a flatbed hauling a forklift on the back you know," said Lt. Orlando Sanchez.

That's right, a flatbed with a forklift led police on e chase on the 836 Expressway.

The chaos-causing driver took out a light pole, messenger board and a palm tree. A Doral police car was banged up big time.

The end result was a huge traffic mess on several 836 off ramps and the complete shutdown of 107th Avenue north bound at the 836.

The theft of large trucks and industrial equipment is not unheard of in Miami.

And that's exactly how it started when Doral police got a call about a truck theft.

"When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle rear ended and struck the police vehicle attempting to hit the officer but also hit the vehicle causing severe damage," Sanchez said.

No announced charges yet but attempting to run over a police officer can get you shot and some have been charged with attempted murder.
