MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade fire crews spent the night battling a raging house fire in Pinecrest.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the fire at the $2 million home was suspicious.

Neighbor Earl Powell told CBS4's Peter D'Oench, "I saw blue flashing lights and heard emergency vehicles honking. It was very strange."

When firefighters arrived at 6685 SW 94th Street just before 2 .am. on Tuesday, they say the home was fully engulfed in flames.

"When we arrived flames has already breached the roof and they were probably about 30-feet in the air. As of right now it is suspicious in nature. When we arrived Pinecrest PD was already on scene, the gates were locked, the house was well involved already, they said it possibly looked like it was a foreclosure and that nobody was living here at the time," said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's David Reardon.

The roof of the home collapsed making it too dangerous for them to enter.

"Crews fought tirelessly through the night to contain the fire that was rather large in the home," said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Michelle Fayad. "Because of the instability of the structure, crews were force to fight a defensive attack from the outside of the building to ensure the safety of the firefighters on the scene."

Firefighters used ladder trucks to fight the fire from above.

No injuries were reported. Arson investigators will try to determine the cause of the fire.

It was the second blaze in two days in Pinecrest. Coincidentally, the latest fire happened just seven blocks north of another inferno on Monday on S.W. 67th Ave. that damaged another home - firefighters were called to put out a fire in the attic of a home.

The cause of that fire was determined to be a lit cigarette.
