Fire Forces Eight From Hialeah Home

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) – Hialeah firefighters responded to a fire that forced eight people out of their homes Friday.

The fire happened at a duplex located at 137 W 14 Street.

American Red Cross members responded to help the three families.

Firefighters said flames were showing from the back of the home and heavy smoke was coming from the structure.

Due to bars on the home's windows, firefighters had a harder time getting inside, officials said.

The fire was put out and no one was injured.

An unattended pot on a stove is suspected to be the cause of the fire.
