Fiery Crash Involved Miami-Dade Police Cruiser

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A fiery crash in North Miami involved a Miami-Dade police officer.

Overnight a woman in a Dodge Charger slammed into the rear of the officer's cruiser stopped at a light at NE 135th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. The Charger then spun across the intersection as flames erupted from the engine compartment.

First responders pulled the woman from the burning car and rushed to Aventura Hospital.

There's no word on if the officer was injured.
