FHP Trooper Killed On I-75

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was killed while responding to a crash on I-75 Saturday afternoon.

The trooper, 30-year-old Chelsea Richard, was talking to a tow truck driver, identified as John Duggan, and another man on the side of the road at mile marker 341 near Ocala when they were hit by a pick up truck.

Richard and Duggan were killed. The second man, George Phillip, was taken to the hospital where he later died. 

Richard, a 9-year veteran of the FHP, leaves behind a 4-year-old child.
