Felony Suspect Found Hiding In Pembroke Pines

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) - A felony suspect is in custody after a manhunt in Pembroke Pines early Wednesday morning.

Residents were asked to stay indoors and police shut down several blocks in the area of NW 77th Way and 14th Street while they searched for the man who they believed was armed and dangerous.

The man's step-father identified him as 25-year old Billy Hockaday. He added his step son was on probation.

Police when they went to serve an active warrant on Hockaday for having a concealed weapon, he slammed the door on them and took off running.

Neighbors said the man tried to flee into a canal behind his mother and step-fathers house.

Chopper 4 was over the scene while the suspect was treated in the back of an ambulance. His mother told CBS4s Gaby Fleischman he was injured by a K9.
