FDOT: Brickell Avenue Bridge Malfunctions, Closed To Traffic

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Florida Department of Transportation announced the closure of the Brickle Avenue bridge on Thursday afternoon due to a malfunction.

The FDOT said the bridge would be closed until further notice because of mechanical and electrical problems with the span locks.

The closure was causing headaches for rush-hour commuters.

Crews were working on the bridge which was in the up position.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
