FBI, Police Arrest Miami Shores Bank Robber

MIAMI SHORES (CBSMiami) – John Fontus, 33, is facing federal charges related to the robbery of a Miami Shores Wells Fargo Bank branch.

Fontus was arrested by the Miami Shores Police Department and the FBI without incident on Thursday.

The arrest comes a day after the FBI had released photos of a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank branch located at 9899 NE 2nd Ave.

Fontus allegedly entered the bank and demanded money from a bank employee, taking an unspecified amount of money. No injuries were reported in the robbery.

The FBI and Miami Shores Police Department continue their investigation.

Please note this is not the arrest of the serial bank robber known as the "Lucky Bandit" who the FBI offered a reward for earlier on Thursday.
