DAVIE (CBSMiami) -- The Florida Atlantic Owls are going all-out in pumping their home opening clash with the Miami Hurricanes this Friday evening.

Head coach Charlie Partridge issued a letter to help fans get out of work early for the 8 p.m. contest because "tailgating begins four hours prior to kickoff and what's college football without an awesome tailgate?"

Well done, Charlie.

FAU is coming off a 47-44 overtime loss to Tulsa.

Miami is 17.5 point favorites as of Tuesday morning after blanketing Bethune-Cookman 42-0 in a game shortened by 10 minutes due to poor weather.
