Family Loses Two House Pets After Early Morning Fire

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A house fire in west Miami-Dade claimed two family pets early Sunday morning.

Miami Dade Fire Rescue was called to the 1400 block of SW 102 court after a fire broke out at a family home.

When they arrived the fire had extended to the attic.

CBS4's Silva Harapetian learned that three people live in the home.

A mom and her daughter were home at the time. They got out safely but they lost their family pets, a cat and a dog.

Fire fighters say the fire burned part of the roof of the exterior and the majority of the ceiling had to be pulled. Overall, the fire damage is extensive.

At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation.
