Family Desperate For Answers In Shooting Death Of Celebrity Chef

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The family of slain celebrity chef Antaun Teasley made an emotional plea Tuesday at the Miami Beach Police Department for the public's help to find his killer.

"When a mother loses a son there is nothing compares," said Teasley's mother Janice Edwards. "He didn't die in his sleep, he was violently taken from us."

Teasley was a chef for Miami Heat players Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole.

He was shot at the popular South Beach nightclub Mansion a week ago.

Police say Teasley was in the VIP section when a group he was with got into an altercation with another group of people--then someone opened fire.

"Can you say something and not be a coward," said his sister Robin Teasley.
