Facing South Florida: Cyclists Struck

Two cyclists were struck and one was killed this past week on the Rickenbacker Causeway by an alleged drunk driver. Walter Reyes, who was training for the upcoming Dolphins Cycling Challenge, is the third cyclist to be killed along the Rickenbacker in the past five years.

The incident has the local bicycling community coming together to renew their push for safer streets.

Jim focuses the half-hour on the incident with Miami-Dade County Commissioner Xavier Suarez, and Bernard Zyscovich, an architect behind Plan Z for Miami, which would transform the Rickenbacker and give cyclists, runners, joggers and walkers a safer alternative.
