Congresswoman Val Demings, a Democrat, represents the Orlando area.

As Orlando's former police chief, she understands the pain of a mass shooting, such as the 2016 Pulse nightclub massacre where 49 people were killed.

DeFede spoke with Demings about gun control, following the two mass shootings in Atlanta and Boulder.

Demings is also considering a run against Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2022.
