"Face The Nation" Host Bob Schieffer Announces Retirement

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Bob Schieffer,"Face The Nation" host and 'CBS News' Chief Washington Correspondent  announced his retirement on Wednesday.

Schieffer has been with 'CBS News' for 46 years and has also been the moderator of the Sunday show "Face the Nation" for 24 years.

He announced his retirement at a symposium at Texas Christian University.

Shortly after his announcement, Schieffer tweeted, "Great talking journalism at @TCU tonight. Also really happy to be in my hometown, where it all started, to announce my retirement." 

According to CBS News, he is set to retire this summer.
