Police say a tank of acetylene in the bed of a pickup truck exploded.

The explosion happened right in front of a Holiday Inn Express. Rebecca Jones, who was visiting from Maryland, heard it.

"I never heard anything like that before, the whole building shook. I thought it was a terrorist attack, I really did," she said. "That's how bad it was. I just saw all of this debris, huge debris, flying in the air. It was horrific."

Doral police said the tank was secured properly but the tank had a leak.

"It was a big explosion and we went out and we saw a lot of smoke," said a woman who works at a nearby Fast Signs shop.

Business owner Walter Prio said he'll never forget what he heard.

"No doubt it was a tremendous explosion, it felt like a bomb, it felt like a really, really large bomb. It shook, we were sitting having lunch, we just moved into the place today, and all of the sudden this explosion hits. I thought it was the warehouse down the end there that exploded and was catching on fire. That's how big the sound sounded," he said.

Two vehicles were damaged by the flying debris, a taxi and a car.

No serious injuries were reported.

The owner of the truck was not cited because he had abided by all of the regulations for transporting the gas tank.
