The man said he and another caregiver were unable to carry out the bedridden woman out of the house.

The caregivers waited for Miami Beach Fire to rescue the woman who was trapped in the back bedroom.

Fire investigators said the fire started in the garage and burned up a car in the driveway, but were able to extinguish the flames before they spread to the rest of the house.

The elderly woman was taken to Sinai Hospital to get checked for smoke inhalation.

Investigators are working to figure out the cause of fire, but believe it is accidental.
