Mannix: Until Wade Signs Elsewhere, 'I'm Just Not Gonna Believe It'
Dwyane Wade is officially going to test the free agent market once midnight hits but there are NBA Insiders like SI's Chris Mannix who aren't buying the fact he's going to find a better suitor than Miami.
"Until Dwyane Wade ties his name to a contract with another team, I'm just not gonna believe it," Mannix said on the Joe Rose Show, "because wherever Wade goes, including LA, he's not gonna get the salary that he's looking for. I really can't fathom the Lakers giving him $16-17 million per year over a three-year deal. Not with the team they have and the direction they're trying to go in terms of getting younger. So I don't see that happening. And outside of that, what teams with cap space present either a quality living opportunity or a chance to win?
"I still believe that this is just a standoff between Wade and the Heat. At some point in the next couple of weeks they figure out a reasonable number."
