Dwyane Wade Named Eastern Conference Player Of The Week

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat have been playing some great basketball of late and the NBA is taking notice.

On Monday the league announced that Heat guard Dwyane Wade has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

This covers games played between Monday, January 25th and Sunday, January 31st. The Heat went 4-0 during that span.

Wade has now earned the honor 19 times in his career.

During the four games, Wade averaged 24.0 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, 4.8 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.75 blocks.  He also hit 82.4 percent of his free throws.

Wade led the team in points, assists and blocks three times each and twice in steals.

He also scored at least 10 points during the fourth quarter in the first three games of the week, which is the first time he's done that three times in a week since the 2010-11 season.
