Drug Dealer Threatens To Be Judges' 'Biggest Nightmare'

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — A convicted drug dealer is back in jail after he reportedly threatened five South Florida judges in person, online, and over the phone.

Todd Watson, 53, was arrested Tuesday on 15 misdemeanor charges, including five counts of stalking judges and 10 counts of making obscene calls.

Investigators say Watson was sentenced in Broward Circuit Court in 2011 to six years in prison.

When he was released in March, the Broward Sheriff's Office said he crossed the line in harassing the judges.

"The judges, their children in two different counties, they are living in fear on pretty much a daily basis since March 23rd of this year until this morning when we were doing surveillance, staking out his house. Prior to coming out and prior to the arrest, he was still calling judges leaving very vile, profane messages, horrific, obscene phone calls," Det. Joseph Kessling told the judge during a hearing for Watson.

Sheriff's investigators have recorded phone calls of Watson making the threats. They said he has a history of doing this and he's relentless.

"He went to prison, he was punished for that, he did the same thing in prison. The first thing he did when he got out was he came here to this courtroom and started stalking the judges, the judicial assistants, the state attorney who he calls a murderer and a terrorist," said Kessling.

According to his arrest report, Watson accused judges of fabricating evidence and colluding to wrongfully convict people.

He remains in jail on $100,000 bond.
