South Florida Driver Rescued From Car That Plunged Into Water Has Died

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A person who was airlifted to Aventura Hospital after their vehicle plunged into a body of water in Bay Harbor Islands has died.

It happened in the area of 103rd Street and Broadview Drive. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel pulled the person from the vehicle and got them to shore where a waiting ambulance took them to a helicopter for the airlift.

It's unclear what caused the car to go into the water.
