Driver Jumps Curb, Dies In Accident With Tree

DEERFIELD (CBSMiami) – Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said a driver died after losing control of his vehicle, jumping a curb and hitting a tree in Deerfield Beach on Friday night.
Authorities said the accident happened at about 8:22 p.m.
Investigators believe the vehicle was travelling westbound on Hillsboro Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it hit the tree.
A group of witnesses told authorities they noticed the engine of the car caught fire after the crash. They pulled the driver out of the car before it became fully engulfed in flames.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the crash and attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. BSO crews put out the fire.
Detectives have not released the driver's name as his family has not been notified of his death.
