MIAMI (CBSMiami) – There will be plenty of clouds around Wednesday with scattered storms and some heavy downpours possible.

Highs will be in the low to mid 80s.

Thursday into Friday, there's an even better chance of storms due to all the deep tropical moisture streaming in from the Gulf of Mexico associated with Tropical Depression #9.

The moisture surging from the southwest along with a frontal boundary will produce plenty of rain across South Florida.

Rainfall could reach 3 to 5 inches, possibly some higher amounts in spots.

Depression #9 does not pose an immediate threat to South Florida. It is forecast to become Tropical Storm Hanna and move towards the east across the State of Campeche, Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula. As it interacts with land it may weaken or dissipate before likely moving towards the Western Caribbean.

This weekend drier air will move into South Florida to decrease the storm coverage and allow for more sunshine with highs in the low to mid 80s.
