MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) -- Dozens of locals lined up for free food on Saturday morning.

Volunteers set up stands for Farm Share's free food distribution in Miami Gardens near 21310 NW 37th Ave.

Florida families are receiving seasonal fresh produce among other edible goods.

The food is being distributed on a first come first serve basis. If supplies last, the distribution will remain open until noon.

According to Farm Share,  they work to prevent food waste and distribute healthy food to those in need. Last year, they said, they distributed over 26 million pounds of food to families.
