MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase announced Arian Foster (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Cleveland.

Absent from practice all week, Foster was never a good bet to play in Sunday's favorable matchup.

Miami has yet to name a replacement starter, but it looks like second-year pro Jay Ajayi will be making his first NFL start.

Ajayi and Kenyan Drake will likely split most of the backfield work, though Damien Williams and/or Isaiah Pead could potentially also be involved.

Miami running backs have combined for 82 yards in 25 carries (3.3 average), while Tannehill has 52 yards in 11 attempts (4.7 average).

"We need to do a better job," Ajayi said. "This week is going to be a week for us to make that statement. We can be downhill guys."
